Outline of project

Conservation work to one of the best surviving secular buildings in England, a scheduled ancient monument and Grade I listed building. The hall was constructed in the late 12th century. Conservation and consolidation works included the repair and consolidation of the curtain walls and the repair and conservation of the Great Hall itself, cleaning of 230 historic horseshoes. The refurbishment and improvements to existing the facilities involved the design and construction of an extension to the side of the listed building including enhancement and improvements to the lighting, electrical and heating systems.
