Outline of project

Preparation of an extensive and detailed landscape management plan for an historic lead mine site in the Peak District which is subject to a Higher Level Stewardship Scheme administered by Natural England. The project required the provision of a complete package of professional expertise under the WAW umbrella and included liaison with archaeologists, land surveyors, ecologists and botanists. The mine is also a scheduled ancient monument and works were undertaken to consolidate three ‘at risk’ structures.

An initial project has been undertaken to repair one of the engine house chimney stacks.
